„Polish Run” running race in Brussels

Next edition of „Polish Run” was held on 5th September. The event was organised by the East Poland House in Brussels and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland to the Kingdom of Belgium in cooperation with the Polish Tourist Organisation.

The main goal of the event was to promote Poland, in particular regions of Eastern Poland, and encouraging to active lifestyle by participating in various sports events. This year competition brought together participants from 25 various countries as well as representatives of the EU institutions acting in Belgium.

More than 1000 contestants showed up at the staring line to cover the distance of 10 km, 21km and 40 km running through the forests surrounding Brussels. This year, the route was very demanding  and was a real challenge. Fortunately, beautiful views motivated the contestants to continue the race and fans waiting on the finish line supported all the contestants.

During the Sunday race, East Poland House under coordination of the Lubelskie Voivodeship , prepared a wide promotional offer. There was organised a stand where five regions of Eastern Poland (Lubelskie, Podkarpackie, Podlaskie, Świętokrzyskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie) could present their tourist assets. Guests had a chance to taste Polish sweets, memorial T-shirts, small gifts and folders encouraging to visit the Lubelskie Region.

Winners of the race could get attractive awards, such as sports watches and gadgets from the East Poland House. There were also prepared special awards for the oldest male and female participant. These awards were granted by the Consular Division of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland to the Kingdom of Belgium.
