The capital of the region is Luck with its beginnings dated to 1085. The most precious landmarks of the city are fragments of the Upper Castle, the Bishop House, the Noble House, and the fragments of the Lower Castle with the Czartoryski Family Tower. There are 5 universities in the city.

The Lubelskie Voivodeship cooperates with the Volyn Region based on the Agreement on economic, trade, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation, dated 16 June 2004. Detailed objectives of the cooperation are also defined in the Transborder cooperation Strategy of the Lubelskie, Volyn, Lviv and Brest Regions.

The Volyn Region is located in the north-west part of Ukraine, it borders Poland, Belarus and the Lviv, Rivne and Brest Regions.

Industrial and agriculture sectors are the leading economic sectors of the Volyn Region. The industrial sector is dominated by the food, machine, fuel, chemical and construction materials sectors. In the agriculture sector, the main role is played by cattle breeding and the production of cereals, beetroots, potatoes, and other vegetables.

The large infrastructural project under the Transborder Cooperation Programme PL-BY-UA 2014-2020 “Improvement of the environmental condition on the borders of the Szacki National Park by the construction of the sewage system on rural areas at the Swityaz Lake”.

The project under the Transborder Cooperation Programme PL-BY-UA pt. “Strengthening the potential of voluntary fire brigades in rescuing accident victims on the roads of the Lubelskie Voivodeship and the Volyn Region”.
