The capital of the region is Ternopil, which was established in 1540. The most precious monuments include, among others, the Castle, the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary (former Dominican Order’s Church), the Roman Catholic Chapel in Mikuliniecki cemetery, the Orthodox Church of the Feast of the Cross, the Orthodox Church of the Nativity of Christ, and the Ternopil Clock (restored).

The Lubelskie Voivodeship cooperates with the Ternopil Region based on the Agreement on cooperation between the Lubelskie Voivodeship and the Ternopil Regional State Administration, signed on 15 November 2018.

The Ternopil Region is situated in the western part of Ukraine, it borders the Rivne Region in the north, the Ivano-Frankivsk Region in the west, the Chernivtsi Region in the south, the Lviv Region in the west, and the Khmelnytskyi Region in the east.

The main economic sectors of the Ternopil Region are the food sector (including the sugar sector), the meat, dairy and tobacco sectors, as well as agriculture.

The Lublin Museum and the Juliusz Słowacki Museum in Kremenets in the Ternopil Region have been cooperating based on the agreement of 2017.
