Vice-marshal has met with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic

The Vice-marshal Michal Mulawa has met with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Warsaw Iwane Jestřáb. The discussion concerned interregional cooperation, among others, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr Mulawa underlined that with the support of the anti-crisis shield, the government and EU support, the Voivodship is trying to counteract economic effects of the pandemic. The Voivodeship also counts on close cooperation both on the forum of the Visegrad Group as well as in the context of the Three Seas Initiative. Under the latter project, the Vice-marshal presented the concept of the Economoc Network of the Three Seas Regions.

Establishment of the Network, initiated by the Lubelskie Voivodeship, aims at strenghtening economic cooperation of the Three Seas regions , improvement of their competitiveness on the EU market and efficient absorption of funds from the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund, as well as development of the transport and tourism in the context of the Via Carpathia international route. The Ambassador of the Czech Republic congratulated the Polish side on enormous progress in developing road and transport infrastructure. The Vice-marshal paid attention to a development leap of the region, which was possible  thanks to numerous investments made in the region, such as the Lublin Airport, express roads, Via Carpathia road planned to be extended, as well as the dry transshipment port in Małaszewicze, which, with the accompanying road and transport infrastructure, has a chance to become the largest logistic hub in this part of Europe.

The discussion was also about the projects implemented by the Lubelskie Voivodeship with Czech regions. Recent example of such cooperation is the project  ‘Support of attractiveness of medical and social care professions in regions’(SHAKER) 2020-2023 implemented with, amog others, administration of the Silesian-Moravian Region. Under the financial support of the Erasmus+Programme, representatives of voactional schools educating in health and social care, as well as regional administration will take part in the workshops in Poland, Czech Republic, the Netherlands and France. The workshops will concern mainly promotion and tranining in medical and social care professions on the level of vocational schools.
