Marshal Jarosław Stawiarski has met with the President of the Bihor County

On Friday, 2 October 2020 a newly appointed president of the Bihor County (Romania) Mr Ilie Bolojan paid a working visit in the capital of our region. Mr Bolojan had been a mayor of the City of Oradea for many years.

Mr Bolojan was accompanied by the Ambassador of Romania in Warsaw His Excellency Ovidiu Dranga. The Marshal of the Lubelskie Voivodeship Jarosław Stawiarski received the delegation in the building of the Lublin Conference Centre . During the conversation the issue of construction of the Via Carpathia route was emphasised. The Bihor County is going to intensify lobbying in the Romanian government in order to build a section of the motorway on the first Romanian Via Carpathia section running from the north. Ilie Bolojan expressed his willingess to exchange experience to efficiently address  similar problems typical for the member states of the so called new UE.

The meeting was also an occasion to invite the Romanian delegation to the Self-government  Economic Congress and II Forum of the Three Seas Regions and to join the Economic Network of the Three Seas Regions, which is an extension of the Three Seas Initiative in local-government dimension initiated in 2016 by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda and the President of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

The guests from Romania also visited the  Museum at Majdanek, the Holy Trinity Chapel and the Lublin Old Town.
